Experience

I spent 15 years of working in an NHS medical laboratory as a Health and Care Professions Council state registered Biomedical Scientist (4 years as a Highly Specialised BioMedical Scientist in Haemostasis).  I hold BScs in both Pharmacology and Biomedical Sciences and also have an MSc in Pathological Sciences, specialising in Haematology.

I can help you with…

Assistance with queries related to quality management systems and quality standards.  Primarily I have experience of accreditation to ISO/IEC 15189

What is your favourite part of your role?

Helping and connecting people with best practices.  Finding solutions to gaps that not only improve the quality but also the process itself.

What work in your career have you most enjoyed?

The challenge of inheriting a laboratory section that had never been assessed by UKAS, bringing it through implementation of new analysers and software, safe semi-automated result authorisation and gaining accreditation – the most recent visit with zero findings.
