FCN's host force, Dorset Police, is seeking a self-motivated CEO to help create the world's most advanced and coordinated forensic network. The role will be suitable for a dynamic and influential leader looking for a new challenge in a policing environment.
Policing in the UK faces a series of challenges as it seeks to modernise, become more efficient, and make the most of technology and innovation to respond to modern and future demands. As an integral part of policing, forensic science is facing these challenges too.
Established in April 2020, FCN is already the UK’s largest forensics network, supporting more than 4,000 specialists in 43 police forces with critical technology, advice and training.
In May, FCN announced that it had appointed Jo Ashworth OBE as its interim CEO for a six-month period.
FCN's CEO will play a vital role in setting the strategic direction of the network and will collaborate and influence at executive levels within Policing, with senior officials across Government and strategic leaders within industry and academia.
FCN is powered by the Transforming Forensics (TF) programme, an national NPCC programme which is creating advanced products, service and capabilities to meet the needs of policing and the public.
